This is the only testament to the existance of a once-sprawling empire. The Ghurid Dynasty ruled from Afghanistan to northern India in the 1100s and 1200s, and was wiped out by the Mongols in 1222. All that remained were legends and this minaret, apparently alone in an empty valley.
